MAGNAFLOW 457015 on my 99 Camry
After doing lots of research and trying to understand Federal versus California versus EPA versus CARB, I finally decided on this Magnaflow 457015 downpipe catalytic converter. I have a California compliant Toyota 5SFE 2.2 L engine with 180K miles and this Magnaflow has been on my engine for 39,000 trouble-free miles no codes and no leaks. I'm in the Northeast and it is not rusting either so whatever stainless steel grade it's made from, which they keep a secret for some unknown reason, it's not falling apart like my junkie 420C stainless steel muffler made by Northern

Magnaflow 457015 for 1999 Camry
I have a 1999 Toyota Camry 2.2 L 5SFE engine with a California emissions engine, even though I live in Rhode Island. So far the downpipe/catalytic converter has seen one New England winter. It has not rusted at all, including the fittings. While my hopes were that it was T304 stainless steel, it is more likely a lesser grade like 420C, however it appears to be made well. I keep the car well maintained and so far the engine has triggered no codes whatsoever including anything to do with emissions. At the same time I installed this Magnaflow, I also installed a Northeastern SS cat-back exhaust which is not doing as well as the downpipe, especially the muffler which is spotted with rust. Just goes to show you that there are definitely different grades of stainless steel exhaust parts and Magnaflow appears to be using a better grade than most aftermarket exhaust manufacturers are using.
